A touch of history
Enthusiasts of blues music and the city of Sierre, under the leadership of a steering committee led by Silvio Caldelari, made the decision in 2008 to organize an international festival dedicated to blues culture, named the Sierre Blues Festival, with the aim of promoting the event's location. Since its inception in 2009, the festival has been held in the heart of the city of Sierre. The lineup typically includes around twenty national and international musical groups, performing at the iconic Plaine Bellevue, the festival's main venue, as well as at various partner public establishments throughout Sierre.
A human-scale festival and a meeting point for blues enthusiasts and locals, the Sierre Blues Festival embodies a festive spirit and a recognized musical quality that extends far and wide. It welcomes established artists, sometimes even stars, while also providing a platform for emerging voices. At the inception of the Sierre Blues Festival, the founders had two dreams: to bring ZZ TOP and ZUCCHERO to the "Sun City." In 2017, with the arrival of the American group, the first dream came true. On June 11, 2022, after more than a decade of hard work and two postponements due to the Covid-19 pandemic, ZUCCHERO's performance at the 13th edition of the Sierre Blues Festival will mark the realization of the organizers' second dream.

A DIFFERENT FESTIVAL
Among the numerous festivals that dot the country today, the Sierre Blues Festival is the largest open-air Romandy festival dedicated to the roots of American music, the Blues. A different festival, with a unique location in Switzerland: Sierre and its sunshine, in the heart of Valais. An exceptional climate that permeates the entire organization of the festival, including its communication. But the climate isn't everything.

As the festival aims to feature well-known headliners that will highlight emerging artists from America or Europe, not forgetting a prominent place for Swiss musicians and to launch or support Valais bluesmen.

Since it is an open-air festival, but in the heart of the city, close to all the facilities useful to every festival-goer (train station, hotels, restaurants, shops, banks). A festival that combines "practicality" and pleasure.
